War Refugeedom and Forced Displacement in Bohemian Lands in 1914-1920.

The aim of the dissertation is to present the phenomenon of forced migration of the civilian population during the First World War on the territory of Austria-Hungary, with special regard to their asylum in the Czech lands. The study is not limited to a single particular group of refugees based on ethnic or national affiliation but offers a view of ethnic pluralism in the place of their temporary asylum. The thesis attempts to synthesize the existing knowledge in historiography on the course and conditions of forced displacement of the civilian population on the Eastern and Italian fronts and presents the process of integration of refugees and evacuees in the territory of Bohemia and Moravia. On the basis of the study of archival sources of Austrian and Czech provenance, it pays attention to the reconstruction of life in refugee camps, the system of social and health care in the villages, spiritual life and, last but not least, the process of re-migration and repatriation, with regard to its continuity in the post-war years. In the socio-political context of the first years of Czechoslovakia, the thesis focuses on the social status of war refugees, furthermore it presents the process of liquidation of refugee care and the way of life in refugee camps in the time of the post-war demobilization.
Anti-high prices and social unrest in the Brandýs nad Labem district after the First World War

The bachelor thesis focuses on the development of the labor movement in the Brandýs nad Labem district after the First World War in 1919-1921 and ends with the establishment of the district Communist Party. Its aim is to describe the social unrest that took place in the district after the First World War. The first chapter describes the development of the labor movement throughout the Czechoslovakia from the end of the war through the hunger and anti-poverty riots to the struggle in the CSDSD, the occupation of the People's House, the General Strike of December and the founding of the Communist Party. The second chapter presents the development of the economy in the various towns of the district, which consisted mainly of the chemical and metalworking industries and agriculture. The third chapter describes the beginnings and development of the labour movement from the mid-19th century to the emergence of the Czechoslovakia from a regional perspective. The fourth chapter focuses on the actual anti-labour riots, strikes, demonstrations and the reactions of the administration to them. The fifth chapter analyses aspects of these events in the Brandýs nad Labem district.
Analysis and comparison of French and German poster propaganda in the first world war

English abstract The dissertation analyzes French and German poster propaganda as it was used in and shortly after the First World War. It observes the visual motives, their cultural categories and the displayed themes. By examining 500 French and 500 German posters, the goal of the work is to create a detailed analysis of their contents, usage and argumentation, with which it wants to achieve closer understanding of the contemporary propaganda used by Germany and France. The mentioned motives, categories and themes are then compared between the two nations. Through this comparison, the work strives to find out the unique (or similar) message and language of the propaganda used by each country. It describes the general view of the historical period in the village of Šumná, including the development of education, citizens' lives, local activities, leisure time organizations and the impact of the influence of political ideologies. The work is mainly based on the municipal and school chronicle.
Lieutenant Colonel of General Staff of Czechoslovak Army František Hrubiš (1897-1967)

This work deals with the personality of František Hrubiš (1897-1967), his whole life and setting it in the context of the time. It focuses mainly on his military career and his contribution to many important moments in our history, such as participation in the Czechoslovak legions, later career in the Czechoslovak army during the First Republic, World War II, post-war life and his participation in the trial with Rudolf Slánský. To complete the overall picture of personality, this work deals with a brief history of the family and the environment in which he grew up. The work is based on the testimony of the witness, data found in the documentation of the Military Historical Institute in Prague, documentation from the Archive of the Security Forces and collections of documents of a personal nature stored in the National Archives of Prague, as well as personal family photographs and correspondence. The conclusion is a summary of the information and findings obtained, not only from the documents, but also from the testimony of František Hrubiš's daughter, Jarmila Filipová. Building an Intelligence Information Network in 1914-1918 on the example of "Czechoslovak Independence" and "La Nation Tchéque"

The diploma thesis analyses the topic of building a foreign intelligence network and its activities during the First World War (1914-1918) on the example of the Československá samostatnost and La Nation Tchéque magazines. The introduction maps the steps of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk after his emigration in 1914. Masaryk was the main personality of the whole foreign affair, but the thesis also deals with other representatives of the foreign resistance, such as Lev Sychrava, who was responsible for the issuing of Československá samostatnost, or Ernest Denis, who together with Edvard Beneš edited La Nation Tchéque. The work is based primarily on archival sources with special regard to the collection of the Editorial Offices of the Československá samostatnost and La Nation Tchéque, which is stored in the Military Historical Archive. This collection contains correspondence from both editorial offices, draft articles for both papers and other auxiliary materials from which the content of both papers was formed. The content of the entire collection is gradually revealed in the thesis. František Soukup and his share in the creation of Czechoslovakia

ANOTATION Bachelor's work focused on František Soukup and his share in the creation of Czechoslovakia mainly during First World War and in first government of Karel Kramář. Shortly it is introduced a history of Czech social democracy, because František Soukup was member of this party (since 1896) and this party influenced his opinion for a long time. The main part of the bachelor's work presents Soukup in Maffie and mainly in button scandal in autumn 1915. Bachelor's work gives a detailed description of Soukup's activity in National Committee and Socialist Committee. Then work focused on Soukup's share of National Committee's declaration in the first half of 1918. Work gives an essential description of 28th October 1918 and first government of Karel Kramář, because František Soukup was Minister of Justice.
